What is the Worth’s World Scheme?

The ‘Worth’s World Scheme’ provides clients with limited means with the possibility to pay reduced legal fees. If you are eligible for the Scheme, Arlingsworth will consider an appropriate reduction to your legal fees, taking into account your individual circumstances. Each individual will be assessed on a case-by-case basis with the information you provide us.

In order to be eligible for the ‘Worth’s World Scheme’ you must be either:

    • A student in full-time education; or
    • An individual who earns less than £12,000 a year.

    How to Apply?

In order to apply, depending on how you are eligible for the Scheme, we will need different and specific information.

If you are a student we will need:

      • A letter from your educational establishment, confirming the course that you’re on and the duration of the course.

If you are an individual who is employed and earns less than £12,000 a year we will need:

      • Pay slips covering your last three months;
      • Your most recent P60 form; and
      • A letter from your employer confirming your most recent salary.

If you are an individual who is self-employed and earns less than £12,000 a year we will need:

      • A letter of confirmation of your earnings from your accountant; and
      • Your most recent tax return.

If you are an individual who is unemployed and receives no form of income we will need:

      • Copies of your bank statements over the last three months.

What is a Sears Tooth Agreement?

This is a deed that assign a client’s financial settlement to us to enable the recovery of our legal costs in full, which we will have incurred in acting on behalf of a client throughout the financial stages of their divorce. It is a way of essentially deferring payment of our legal fees to the end of the case. Depending on the specific circumstances of an individual’s case, we can offer a Sears Tooth Agreement to help with fighting a case.

Please note, a Sears Tooth Agreement is not the same as a Conditional (no win no fee) agreement. Our fees incurred under a Sears Tooth Agreement are payable in any event.
